Clogged blogs

FS Blog dated March 31, 2008

For most of the bloggers,
self-expression is the ultimate reason for writing. Amidst variety of opinion,
styles, plotting techniques and inspiration behind writing, how a writer ably convey
the emotion behind and within his craft is the definitive point of its creation.
It is satisfying to, given the
intention, communicate what is inside of your head in a spot where you can tag
a memory of event and leave there untouched for the rest of one’s life.  To share that “self-expression” to others is just, for me, secondary and a different
point of view. While it is very rewarding when other people are able to appreciate
your works, the priority, nonetheless, is your self gratification that at least
you know and understand fully what you are expressing.

While self gratification in
writing is one and readers’ appreciation is another, the relative appreciation
of readers is what I call the’ another’ of that another. People tend to have variety
of valuing for an opinion. If there are a hundred persons inside a room, you
could possibly collect a hundred different views on a single idea. Thus a
success of a writer when considering people’s appreciation is not singular to approval.
One way or another , I can consider it a success even it collects loads of
negative imprints.  How you are able to
create a scenario where your craft is being subjected to countless debate and
you, after being thumped with comments at the receiving  end is in a way, for me, a success.

But please don’t get me wrong. I
am not being particular about a work that reaps so much comments as a success.
It falls to the three bullet points I have just tackled. The success of a work
shall be in the end, how the writer wanted it to come or not to come. If the
writer wants his work to be kept and be hidden to others, then the success
comes if it really is hidden.

And so, the ultimate victory of
a written work is always, again, self-expression.
